  1. MLRC RallyCross

    Comments Off on MLRC RallyCross

This will be MLRC’s only rallycross championship event of 2026. The event is part of the provincial RSO rallycross championship.

The event  is on Sunday June 14, 2026 at the Eagles Nest track. We’ll update this page with more details and registration link as we get closer to the date.

     Location:
    1513A Seneca Rd.
    Ohsweken, ON
    N0A 1M0
    GPS:  43.07324, -80.14716

Here are the Sup Regs Eagles-nest RX SR  2026  Reading them over is probably a good idea.

The first runs start at 9AM. If you want to recce the course you have to have that done by 9AM so arriving earlier than that is a good idea. We’re trying for six runs in the day and we need to get going as soon as possible to do that.

A few details for those that don’t want to read the regs:

    Registration Details are coming.

Waivers are now by the online SpeedWaiver which you complete with a smartphone when entering. Use our annual waiver and just do it once and its valid to the end of 2026. Contact me if you have trouble with that. Everybody on the property needs to have completed the waiver. We’re not allowed to use paper anymore.

The online self declaration is here

Lunch will be determined.  Bring your own drinks, snacks & sunscreen. Lawn chairs are nice to have.

We’ll need help getting the cones and arrows set up in the morning and taken down in the afternoon. We may adjust the course during the day or even run it in the opposite direction. If we do that we’ll score every run, not drop your worst run. Hopefully we don’t have to adjust the course, it held up pretty well so far.

We’ll probably only use the East field so the dust isn’t as bad near the houses. We will probably do two laps at a time.

Spectators are allowed, we just don’t have any facilities like bleachers or concession stands. Bring lawn chairs and something to drink.

A typical layout, we’ll adjust as needed based on what things are like closer to the event. Everybody gets a chance to recce the course.

  2. Co-Driving 101

    Comments Off on Co-Driving 101

    Feb. 19, 2026

We’ve had a great response to this course, currently 19 people have signed up. We expected about 6 people but we will accommodate everyone who has signed up so far. We’ve stopped registering new people as we have all we can handle for our inaugural course. If you have any questions jest send me email at martin.loveridge.rally@gmail.com

    Rally Co-Driving 101, a basic introduction.

There are some people that would like to get into competing in performance rally but don’t know where to start. Co-driving is a good place to begin, some make a “career” of co-driving, some move over to the dark side and start driving and running their own car.

There always seems to be a shortage of co-drivers and even if you want to start co-driving there isn’t any real formal training easily available. KWRC is going to offer an introduction to co-driving on Saturday April 4, 2026. The headquarters will be in Ingersoll.

This isn’t a comprehensive course but it will touch on a some of the basics. We’ll do an hour of “in-class” discussion about performance rally, the structure, making notes and timing. Then we’ll go out on the road with some experienced people to recce a “stage” then run that stage with timecards to show how the timing works. We’ll have main time controls, a service and a finish. We’ll probably have a turn around stage just so you can see how that works.

None of this will involve speed or “rally driving”. We’ll be using open public roads and driving below the posted limit on the “stages”.

We haven’t done this before but here is our initial plan:

    • Arrive for 10AM, we’ll have coffee and snacks
    • Route books  handed out, Introduction of officials
    • A short talk about co-drivers duties and the importance to the team
    • Safety equipment
    • Some ideas about writing notes during recce
    • Emergency procedures, Triangles, the red cross and OK sign
    • Route cards

Then we move into the practical portion:

    • Driving out to do one-pass recce of the route
    • Back to HQ for the official start
    • Transit to the stage – check in and traverse stage 1
    • Turnaround for stage 2
    • Transit back to HQ for service
    • Transit to Stage 3, check in and run stage 3
    • Transit around to run stage 4
    • Transit to the finish and check in.

    Summing up:

    • Check in at final control (MTC)
    • Checking scoring and the notice board
    • Procedure for inquiring scoring errors and other inquiries.
    • Q & A

It’s meant to be a low key, low stress introduction to co-driving. We provide the cars and drivers who have rally experience. No safety equipment is required, all you need is a notepad and a pen. You don’t need to have a drivers license but we may need a special waiver if you are under 18.

Our plan was to limit this to about six students but we could accommodate more if there is a demand. The cost will be $40 if you are not a member of a CARS affiliated club or $20 if you are.

We’ll have timing as usual but it be just for fun. There won’t be any awards or a catered lunch but we may send out for Pizza. There will be a few cones to delineate the course but no penalties. Basically, line up, take a run and do that as many times as you like.

Needless to say, the event will be governed by the spring weather. We’ll update the page by mid-March when we have a better idea how spring is progressing.
