Renovations at Eagles Nest MX track are still in progress so there isn’t much chance we’ll be able to run there in two weeks. However, Kyle (the track owner) has offered us the use of a field he owns on the other side of the road from the motorcross track. Jeff, Brandon and Gary went out there on Friday to check it out and think it will work well. A few of us are meeting Kyle on Monday morning to go over final details.
As you can see we have to get a bunch of plowing done to make the roadway and parking area, plus the track. The snow is not as deep there as it is in the London area but decent plowing will still be needed to get vehicles to and from the parking area. The fields are pretty smooth. We’ve also got to arrange for portable toilets in the parking area.
With the late changes and since I couldn’t get this notice out as soon as I would have liked we are delaying the opening of registration to Wednesday Feb. 2 at 7:00AM. You need a MotorSportReg account to register, if you don’t have one it’d be a good idea to make one before registration opens. Here are the links:
Saturday http://msreg.com/KWRC-RC1-2022
Sunday: http://msreg.com/KWRC-RC2-2022
The settings on MSR don’t have this event visible to the public, we’ll change that on Tuesday.
More information is on the KWRC website:

Including the Supplementary Regulations.

Sunday regulations are the same as Saturday except with the date changes.
History says these events fill up quickly and we’re limiting the entries to 30 each day. I’m a bit concerned that the track may get rough on Saturday and if it does we could postpone the Sunday event to the following Saturday. I’d prefer not to have to do that though. There is some thought of having a test day or school on the Feb. 19 weekend but much will depend on how we make out on Feb. 12.
There aren’t any buildings we can use to get out of the cold so come prepared for that. Unfortunately we won’t be supplying lunch, the logistics and Covid make that too difficult. Make sure you bring your own food and snacks, there is a good Pizza place about 5km. from the track. We plan to have hot water to make hot chocolate, coffee & tea.
There is a fair bit to get done in the next 10 days to make this event happen. We’ll need a few workers for both days; if you are up for an adventure in the cold let me know. A couple of 4wd recovery vehicles will be needed – just in case! If you know anyone with a decent 4×4 plow setup we could get them most of a days paid work setting up the laneway and parking lot.
I’ll post updates on the website and Teresa & Brandon will post to the KWRC facebook site. I’ll have more about our progress in the pre-meeting newsletter next weekend.
It looks promising, we just have to get a few things done and make sure the weather stays cold.
