Results from our Rallycross #5 held on September 19, 2026

It was a bit of a challenge getting this rallycross on. Early on Thursday morning I was set to cancel as the forecast said rain on Thursday and Saturday, but by 9AM that changed and we decided to go ahead. It was a bit of a rush to get the start order, awards, grading and ordering Pizza done but with help form Gord and Patrick we got it done.

The track wasn’t ideal; there were wet areas in the back straight we didn’t have before, a bot of mud approaching Guy’s tree and lots of mud at the hairpin after Guy’s tree. That hairpin was our main problem as cars strayed into the water making the tight corner a muddy mess. We had a bit of a delay rerouting the course and getting everybody another parade lap, then reruns for half a dozen cars that already run the unmodified course. We did get some light rain later in afternoon but it wasn’t a show stopper. We stopped after five runs.

It was a tight battle at the front. Darin’s engine went south on the second run but Sab generously lent his Saab and Darin finished first overall.

Brandon and I will get the championship standings updated soon. That wraps up a really good season with six events running as scheduled. We got really lucky with weather and track preparation.
