Results from the MLRC’s 2026 Polar Bear rally
Running on Saturday evening and into Sunday morning on February 14/15 this epic navigational rally covered over 400km on some well known roads in the Bancroft area. Even some Tall Pines stage roads were included.
Encounters with snowbanks hindered some people and kept Bruce in sweep busy. Other DNF’s came from broken alternator belts, broken exhausts and sick navigators. Some only ran the first leg as the Bear Cub rally. If you are not familiar with navigational rally scoring, a – indicates early arrival at a checkpoint and the score is the number of minutes early or late.
Congratulations to Eric and Zack on finishing first in expert class with almost flawless driving and navigating and to Frank & Peter for second expert.
Thank-you to all the workers for your efforts – Bruce & Jayne, Ross, Doug Edwards, Kaley, Dave Adrian, Adam, Bruce Schulz, Ian, Dave Cote, David Kennedy and a host of others that I can’t remember right now (lack of sleep…)
If you are still desperate for navigational rally there is a SNATR on Feb. 21 in Kitchener, but it’s a much lower key event.
