We’ve been working out details on how to get traditional navigational rally going again while still keeping people safe; needless to say we’ve had to make a few changes.
Our first job is safety, so we are mostly organizing the rally outdoors in a parking lot behind Martin’s office. Washrooms will be available inside but you’ll have to wear a mask to go indoors. We’ll have a supply of masks and hand sanitizer available. We’ll maintain the 2M distancing and of course you have to be comfortable sharing your vehicle with your driver or navigator.
Normally we’d use a restaurant as a headquarters, but with these places restricted to 50% capacity it’s just too hard to accommodate everybody. People like to socialize afterwards (at the required distance) so the plan is to order in Pizza for supper. If I order one pizza per team and it comes in a sealed box from Dominoes then that should be acceptable. Bring lawn chairs to enjoy the evening while we get the scoring done.
We’ll do registration with as little interaction as possible: We have online forms to register and pay either by Interac or Credit Card and there is no need for you to print them. You do need to sign a waiver and bring it along, plus a declaration that your drivers licence, insurance and ownership are all valid. There will also be a Covid self declaration form. We have an open refund policy so if you can’t make the rally for any reason you get a full refund.
We’ll have traditional checkpoints but when you arrive the marshal will tell you what times to write on your route card. They will have a sheet of paper taped to the car with all the CP info on it so you can keep the 2M distancing. We’ll allow an extra dead minute at the controls since there is more for the competitor to do.
Forms: Please fill out the Google entry form. You can send an Interac transfer or if you prefer using a credit card you can pay via the MotorSportReg.com link, but please still fill out the Google entry form as well. If you have trouble with any of the forms, just let me know.
Entry form via Google Forms
Credit card payment via MotorSportReg.com
Self declaration of licence, insurance & ownership, plus Covid 19 measures.
SNATR 5 Fillable Waiver (unfortunately, you have to download it and open it in Adobe for the email button to work, you might have to print it.)
Annual Parental Consent Waiver
The instructions are simple; no special equipment is required but a watch, pen and clipboard will come in handy. A calculator will help with the timing but most beginner competitors wisely decide to concentrate on keeping on route rather than doing exact timing.
Make sure you have your valid vehicle ownership and insurance slips with you in the vehicle, as well as a permission letter if you are not the owner of the vehicle.
