The Kitchener-Waterloo Rally Club is planning to hold a practice day on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Humberstone race track. It will be on the rally cross circuit that is normally used but will not be a rally cross championship event.

It will be informal with no timing, no car classifications and no awards. It will, however, be an opportunity to develop your car control skills and have some fun. Bring a stopwatch to time yourself or maybe a friend to time you.

Try new approaches to corners, see what happens when you do left foot braking or test different tires. This is a place to do what you usually aren’t able to try in competition.

We realize that this is not a lot of advance notice. We only thought of the idea at the rally cross this past weekend. But there seems to be a lot of interest. The limit for the number of participants is 30. The cost will be $80 per entrant. Entry will be through a Google sign up. Interact transfer will be available with the sign up. We will also take cash at the track.

A course has been set up and ploughed smooth. If the temperature drops it should be like a race track. Emphasis for the day will be on seat time and skill development. Although, it could quickly become a muddy, slippery track. Expect to come home better equipped for the rest of the rally cross season – and covered in mud. We’ll have a porta-pottie and we don’t have a lunch planned but we could order Pizza as a group. It will be a bare-bones event, you may have to help shag a few cones since we don’t want to overuse our volunteers.

One important point to remember: this event is entirely weather dependent. We are hoping for cold temperatures over the next two weeks. But, should we have to cancel, it will be the result of mild temperatures. We will post info by the Wednesday before the event whether we are able to run or not.

Date: Saturday, February 22, 2020
Cost: $80 per car – no extra charge to share a car but of course each person gets less runs.

Required: Helmets, three point seat belts and appropriate tires

Fill out the KWRC Vehicle Self Declaration R2, sign the waiver, pay your fee  – the usual routine. If you are new and/or have questions contact either Matt Tregunno or Jeff Lantz

Event Forms

We've posted the essential and good to have forms in .pdf format so you can read them and fill them out ahead of time if needed. This could be important if you plan to run with a minor for whom who you do not have guardianship authority or if you want to register before the event.
