Toyo Tires Saturday Night at the Rallies Series
Automapic ORRC & SNATR #6,
seventh event in the 2020 Ontario Road Rally Cup and the sixth in our 2020 beginner level Saturday Night at the Rallies Series
Saturday September 26, 2020
Update Sept. 20 – the rally is going ahead.
New Covid gathering regulations were issued on Saturday Sept. 19 limiting groups outside to 25 people but there is an exemption for organized sporting events. We’re going to make sure we are in compliance with the regulations as we are a sporting event and we’ll keep the assembled group sizes to under 25 people.
When you are out of the car please keep a two meter distance from other crews and wear a mask. The washrooms are available in the shop but please limit the number of people inside to about six. The competitors briefing will be by email the morning of the rally and we’ll also post it on this page. That will include car numbers and time out.
About five minutes before you are due to leave we’ll come around with your instructions and route card in a plastic zip-lock bag. We hold on to the bag, then you remove the instructions from the bag so there is a minimum of contact. At checkpoints, you will fill in your own route card with the times the marshal gives you, again eliminating contact. There will be a sheet at the checkpoint with the ET, distance and car 0 times.
At the finish we’ll collect your route cards and work on scoring. We won’t have the usual “waiting for scoring scrum” but we’ll get the scores calculated then email them to everybody. You’ll have a couple of days to make any inquiries by email and then we will declare the scores final. We’ll mail the awards out.
We won’t be giving out Pizza at the end like the last SNATR but there are several restaurants within a three minute walk of the start and finish. We’ll miss the social interaction we normally have at rally, but it’s about the only way to make it work at this time.
If you feel unwell, please do not attend. We will fully refund any entry fees.

It’s a little different organizing an event under Covid regulations but we’re doing our best. Since restaurants have occupancy limits and restrict movements it doesn’t work well to use them. so we are using Martin’s office as a headquarters. It has a fair bit of space and washrooms but we’ll try to keep most of the activity outside. If you go inside you need to wear a mask We’ll have gloves, hand sanitizer and masks available but bringing your own is a good plan.
For the ORRC, Leg A is about 100km and finishes back at the shop. Leg B will also include the SNATR and will be a little longer at 120km. We don’t have a break in the middle like we normally do in a SNATR but can give you a little time to work things ahead part way through if needed.
As mentioned above we won’t be supplying food at the finish. The idea is to hand in your route card and depart but if you want to go to a restaurant for supper it’s completely up to you.
For the SNATR beginner class the instructions are simple; no special equipment is required but a watch, pen and clipboard will come in handy. A calculator will help with the timing but most beginner competitors wisely decide to concentrate on keeping on route rather than doing exact timing.
