Presents the Monte SNATR and BBQ
Event #4 in our 2012 beginner level navigational rally series.
Sunday July 22, 2012
Remember to bring lawn chairs!
We're doing our version of the Monte-Carlo Rally. There are three possible starting points all converging on a mid-point and then following a common route to the finish and BBQ. Maple Leaf Rally club is starting their event in Bolton and SPDA is starting in Georgetown. If either of those starting points is of interest to you check out the event main page at www.montecarlorally.ca . The MLRC route is about 160Km, has gravel and slightly harder instructions. The SPDA route is 100% paved and about 130Km. Details on KWRC route are below.
Start :
Williams Coffee Pub
Hwy. 8 (King St.) 1km North of Hwy. 401
Kitchener Ontario.

map for more details.
Registration opens at 12:30 PM
Car #1 starts at 2:01 PM
Finish about 4:00 PM
BBQ about 5:00 PM, Burgers condiments and drinks supplied. If you want to bring something along with you feel free to do so but it's not required.
Cost is $30.00 per car. (Cash please, we don't have debit or Visa)
If you can't make it to the rally, just come to the BBQ. Pinehurst has swimming, hiking, canoe and paddleboat rentals and camping. It's a great place to take the kids.
The route runs around Kitchener and is about 110 km in total. It is broken up into two legs with a short break in-between. Leg A has about 20km. of very good gravel roads, leg B is 100% paved. The instructions are simple; accumulative and incremental distances and turns, tulip diagrams, lists and paragraphs. No special equipment is required but a watch, pen and clipboard will come in handy. A calculator will help with the timing but most beginner competitors wisely decide to concentrate on keeping on route rather than doing exact timing.
Check out the brief overview of navigational rallying and this online handbook for more information on how rallies are run.
We've posted the waiver and minor waivers in .pdf
format so you can read them and fill them out ahead of time if needed.
This could be important if you plan to run with a minor for whom who you
do not have guardianship authority.

Fill it out, print it and bring it along to save time, or email it to us
Make sure you bring your valid vehicle ownership and insurance slips
with you to the start, as well as a permission letter if you are not the
owner of the vehicle.
It would help with our planning if you could email
me and let me know if you think you may enter. I need to make sure
I get enough food!
