If you can't make it to the rally, just come to the BBQ. Pinehurst has swimming, hiking, canoe and paddleboat rentals and camping. It's a great place to take the kids.
The route runs around Kitchener using 70% paved roads and is about 100 km long. The instructions are simple; accumulative and incremental miles and turns, tulip diagrams, lists and paragraphs. No special equipment is required but a watch, pen and clipboard will come in handy. A calculator will help with the timing but most beginner competitors wisely decide to concentrate on keeping on route rather than doing exact timing.
Check out the brief overview of navigational rallying and this online handbook for more information on how rallies are run.
We've posted the waiver and minor waivers in .pdf
format so you can read them and fill them out ahead of time if needed.
This could be important if you plan to run with a minor for whom who you
do not have guardianship authority.
