A car rally on good roads, with the emphasis on navigation. There will be enough scenic roads to keep the driver interested.. The second leg of the event will also be part of our beginner series, Saturday Night at the Rallies (SNATR). There is a separate web page for with SNATR specific details.

DIY Controls

Here’s how they work.

You will be given a map with the location of these controls already marked on it. You have to plot your route to go through these locations, subject to other map following conditions. The specific location is identified by a green rural street number so it is unique and easy to identify. When you get to the DIY control, you simply record your distance from the start of section on your route card.

Your penalty will be based on your discrepancy from the actual distance to the one you recorded, 0.1 penalty for each 0.1 KM error. Essentially it is the same as running the section at a CAS of 60 Km/Hr.

You will have a generous ET to run the section so you don’t have to worry about being early or late.

When you get to the end of the section, you just wait out your time or you can start down the road in the next section. There will not be a control until after the 2.00 km distance of the next section so you can safely advance to there.
